If there was a metal bat that performed as good as the composites would you use it? And do you think that metal bats will ever come back?

I hear that Andersons and PST's hit the USSSA Major balls very well. I like swinging metal from time to time just to hear that PING!

I'm still a fan of metal, from time to time i'll still pull the PST's out and the older Demarini bats. I'd like to see metal bats make a come back, i'm sure it will happen one day, but for now composites pretty much rule..

For me, it would be about durability. If they hit the same, I want the more durable bat. I just hate a bat that isn't durable.

I like the feel of metal because you can tell where you hit it better. It also seperates the good hitters from the mediocre hitters. I still use metal in tournament play occasionally.

Whatever performs and has decent durability is what I'll use. I could care less what it's made of.

I much prefer the feel of metal over composite. They just seem to have better feedback. But that being said, I don't know if I would give up the durability the composites can offer.

which ever provides the best results. high core balls metal is fine. 40-44 core composite. 47-50 core metal. i think its the same game. different technology different era's.

im plasticly dependent! a composite king of sorts! hahahahahahahahahahah

If ASA has there way we may end up going back to Metals with rolled ends, (I cant remember what its called when there is no end cap just the rolled over metal)

I'd prefer composite, the pinging hurts my ears. Plus all I've swung is composite..

well the unsaid- composites can be rolled as well as bored out. not to suggest anyone would do that. but would the metal bats be less subject to being altered? we would be better off with lower tuned bats and decent balls than the hot rods everyone hits and the socks they make you hit. but who wins- the manufacturers. you break these bats right and left and the balls are so srry you can't hit them for more than about half a game and then they are mush. so you buy more. some of you guys probably spend over $1000 a year on bats!

I do and don't even break them. But the metal ones would triangle/dent readily with rock hard balls. The manufacturers would probably generate more revenue with that scenario. But I bet the margins are lower on metal bats.
